Stained Glass

A really cool poem I think. We have been created so that beauty is only realized when God works through us, just as stained glass windows are only beautiful when light penetrates through them. Yet my life is filled with brokenness …

Stained Glass
Shards of glass
broken
jagged
useless

cast down carelessly
thoughtlessly
dreams shattered
paradigms shifted

colored by
time, circumstance
events undeserved
unsolicited
unplanned
stained, changed

and then

carefully chosen
cautiously handled
rejoined

placed in perfect order
melded together
by crimson
ribbons
dried, strengthened
new creation

story unfolding
light shining through
impacting the darkness
by a filtered Son

with every broken, jagged edge
i will praise You.

  1. I liked the poem. It really works. In life, sometimes it seems as if people are broken, useless scraps. But the reality is when they are combined with the right person, place or thing, that broken person can become a beautiful person shining bright like stained glass windows.

That is a nice analOgy. Good Job.
